The Apollo heat pump system is very efficient, quiet, and easy to install. It stands out for its clear design, well-organized components, and advanced features like a touchscreen and remote monitoring through an app. It also allows precise temperature control and includes an electric backup for very cold conditions. Overall, it's a reliable and practical system.
Maximizing Efficiency with Apollo Heat Pump
Economical performance that isn't affected by low temperatures.
The APOLLO Hydro Smart Station simplifies the installation of an air-to-water or geothermal heat pump by bringing many of the components normally installed separately in the mechanical room into one integrated system.
Instead of designing the installation around multiple individual pumps, an expansion tank, backup heater, pressure-management components, controls, valves, and domestic hot water heat-exchange components, the Hydro Smart Station provides a centralized connection point between the heat pump and the rest of the hydronic system.
Connect your APOLLO heat pump to the station, then distribute heating and cooling to equipment such as radiant floors, fan coils, air handlers, buffer tanks, domestic hot water tanks, and other hydronic loads.
A complete hydronic heat pump system requires much more than the heat pump itself. Water or glycol must circulate through the system, pressure must be maintained, different hydronic loads have to be supplied, and backup heat may be required when additional heating capacity is needed.
The Hydro Smart Station brings many of these functions together into one organized mechanical-room package.
The Hydro Smart Station sits between the heat pump and the equipment that uses the hot or chilled water, helping organize the indoor hydronic side of the system around one central connection point.
Depending on the system design, it can help integrate:
This makes it possible to build a complete heating, cooling, and hot water system around one centralized hydronic platform instead of assembling many of the core mechanical-room components individually.
The Hydro Smart Station integrates many of the components normally required around a hydronic heat pump installation, including a high-efficiency heat pump circulator, dedicated stainless DHW circulator, expansion tank, automatic pressurization system, electric backup heater, stainless-steel DHW plate heat exchanger, purge and fill assembly, isolation valves, system monitoring, and touchscreen controls.
Connections are provided for the heat pump, primary hydronic load, domestic hot water circuit, and additional loads such as an air handler or pool heat exchanger, depending on the system design.
The main advantage of the Hydro Smart Station is not simply that it contains pumps, valves, and controls. It is that these components have already been brought together as part of the APOLLO hydronic system.
That means fewer individual components for the installer to source and assemble, fewer separate pieces of equipment spread throughout the mechanical room, and a hydronic system that is easier to organize, commission, and service.
For homeowners and building owners, that can mean a cleaner and more organized installation.
For contractors, it can mean less field assembly and fewer installation hours, helping reduce the labor and complexity associated with building a complete hydronic heat pump system.
Rather than treating circulation, backup heating, domestic hot water heat exchange, expansion, pressure management, and system controls as separate parts of the installation, the Hydro Smart Station brings these functions together into a single integrated platform.
The result is a hydronic heat pump system that is simpler to install, easier to organize, and designed to connect APOLLO heat pumps with the heating, cooling, and domestic hot water equipment throughout the building.
