Pellet DUO 50 boiler, 170K BTU.

Purchased this boiler specifically to heat a buffer tank in my shop which in turn heats hydronics in the concrete floors. Item took quite a while to ship about a month or so, ended up waiting the longest on the thermostatic mixing valve. These units are coming from Poland so I imagine a boat floats it over. The pellet hopper was not as pictured on the website and it has to be fully assembled. The sheet metal parts are accurate and of high quality that the hopper is made out of. The boiler was also well built and of high quality. The instructions were mediocre and translated from another language, there was a fair amount of head scratching, assumptions, and google translate. But it is manageable to work with. I purchased this unit as 220V and I assumed 60Hz, I was wrong. It is 220V but at 50Hz, which is okay as the boiler came with a 220V 50Hz power supply which has to be mounted separately and will need its own electric box. The part at MBtek that irritated me was I called their company in the U.S. Pennsylvania but my credit card was ran in Canada. My credit card company charged an extra 3% due to this foreign transaction fee basically $200 extra. I called Allen (Australian feller) at MBtek and he began with telling me they would credit me this amount, then I never heard back. I called again and he asked that I send my credit card statement to prove I was charged this fee and gave me a number to text a pic to, I did this also but never heard back, never got a credit. Poor customer service if you ask me, so consider yourself warned. I believe it is important to indicate to customers that your card will be ran in another country. Okay back to the boiler. To give you an idea of the costs here is what parts were for me based on me doing all the install for free, no labor. Boiler ($6000), Selkirk Chimney system ($2200), Piping ($1600), Elec ($800), Having a warm shop (priceless). So basically I have $10600 into this install took me about 2 weeks. My guess is you can double that number if you hire a contractor to install. At the end of the day I'm still pleased with the purchase and hope I get many years of service.

Love the boiler so far… just wish the hopper was the black one the picture shows. And better instructions!

2023 new boiler

My old wood boiler was getting up in age. I was reluctant to try this as I never heard of the brand. Order it in the spring took a bit to get. Just got it hooked up. Directions are very lacking… mine was a simple set up just running to a coil on the central unit. But if it performs well this year I will probably expand it… also I chose the Duo for the off chance to burn regular wood logs While I plan to mostly run pellets
