Haven’t had a chance to install this boiler but unpacked it and very pleased with the manufacturing quality of the system. When I get it installed I’ll send another review
Product arrived well packed, and undamaged.
Customer service was great! Very helpful over the phone. looking forward to doing more business in the future.
Purchased this boiler specifically to heat a buffer tank in my shop which in turn heats hydronics in the concrete floors. Item took quite a while to ship about a month or so, ended up waiting the longest on the thermostatic mixing valve. These units are coming from Poland so I imagine a boat floats it over. The pellet hopper was not as pictured on the website and it has to be fully assembled. The sheet metal parts are accurate and of high quality that the hopper is made out of. The boiler was also well built and of high quality. The instructions were mediocre and translated from another language, there was a fair amount of head scratching, assumptions, and google translate. But it is manageable to work with. I purchased this unit as 220V and I assumed 60Hz, I was wrong. It is 220V but at 50Hz, which is okay as the boiler came with a 220V 50Hz power supply which has to be mounted separately and will need its own electric box. The part at MBtek that irritated me was I called their company in the U.S. Pennsylvania but my credit card was ran in Canada. My credit card company charged an extra 3% due to this foreign transaction fee basically $200 extra. I called Allen (Australian feller) at MBtek and he began with telling me they would credit me this amount, then I never heard back. I called again and he asked that I send my credit card statement to prove I was charged this fee and gave me a number to text a pic to, I did this also but never heard back, never got a credit. Poor customer service if you ask me, so consider yourself warned. I believe it is important to indicate to customers that your card will be ran in another country. Okay back to the boiler. To give you an idea of the costs here is what parts were for me based on me doing all the install for free, no labor. Boiler ($6000), Selkirk Chimney system ($2200), Piping ($1600), Elec ($800), Having a warm shop (priceless). So basically I have $10600 into this install took me about 2 weeks. My guess is you can double that number if you hire a contractor to install. At the end of the day I'm still pleased with the purchase and hope I get many years of service.
Valve was easy to plumb in once I understood how it worked. Did not come with any kind of instructions, MBtek website has a diagram of how this worked. Basically, AB port goes to the boiler intake (mixed water), and the water exit (heated water) gets piped to B port this forms a loop until the mixing valve begins to open A port (cold water). This prevents the boiler from running to cold which can cause an acidic condensate from the pellets burning, which over time will eat your boiler from the inside out. Be sure to install this to protect your investment.
Installed this pump with DUO Pellet boiler, it has different curves you can select for how you want it to operate. It was easy to wire into the controller. Runs on 220V 50Hz which is the same as what powers the boiler controller. I've only been running the pump for about a week now, so can't comment on longevity.
